Trent Fausett, Solution Architect at VLCM, specializes in networking in all its forms. Trent can offer advice on anything from switches and routers to network firewalls and wireless solutions. In his role, he helps VLCM’s customers assess and plan the proper implementation of varying IT solutions. In addition to his previous experience before coming to VLCM, Trent has HP-specific networking expertise and has helped implement and maintain many networking deployments. Trent continuously obtains new certifications to help VLCM customers with all their networking needs.
Trent works well with companies in any industry; however, he has a passion for education and spends a lot of his time with schools, districts and online institutions. Over a year and a half period, Trent and his team deployed wireless access to an entire district, totalling 80 locations across the state. At one point, Trent was acting as the network engineer for the district when they lost their system administrator. For two years, he returned for 3 days a week to maintain their data center and train a new network engineer to take over and understand the system. Trent has five little Fausetts of his own, all ranging from 12 years old to just 3 months. As a parent, he knows the importance of education and providing access to teachers, administration, students and parents to their school's network. Online testing has become increasingly popular, and Trent is there to help keep students connected. As he's passionate about his work, Trent also enjoys watching, and occassionally playing, sports like football, basketball (and golf- in the picture on the right). Don't be fooled by all the blue, he's a huge U of U fan but doesn't discriminate against the customers who aren't.
