Getting Back on Track
Running unsupported might not concern some, but the biggest risk for a business running on XP or Office 2003 comes down to security. “The main concern with running unsupported, or the main reason to upgrade, is that come April 8th Microsoft will no longer be creating new security patches,” said Josh Linton, VP of Technology at VLCM. “Worst case scenario is that on April 8th, support ceases, and on April 9th, if a new vulnerability is discovered with a new bug, Microsoft won’t fix it.”
Though it may not happen on April 9th, it very well may happen, and if your business is still running XP, then your security will be drastically compromised. With this in mind, getting your system migrated to a current Windows platform is imperative.
